Being a Deputy in the Blaine County Detention Facility is a highly skilled profession. Deputies attend the Idaho Peace Officer Standards and Training Academy for 4 weeks, complete an extensive in-house JTO program, and receive annual specialized training.

Most importantly, our Detention Deputies provide safety and security for all the inmates, staff, visitors and citizens of Blaine County.

Detention Deputies generally work four 10-hour shifts per week. The schedule rotation includes days, nights, weekends, graveyard and holidays.
